Oncology Esthetics and Massage in Berlin-Mitte

A quiet moment in OncoSpa®

OncoSpa®

Care that changes its language

During cancer treatment, and in the months after it, the body asks for less: less stimulation, fewer assumptions, more regard for what it is already carrying. Skin responds differently than it used to. Energy shifts from one day to the next.

OncoSpa® at Inanna exists for that season. It is supportive wellbeing care, never medical treatment, and never a substitute for your clinical team. Touch, pace, and scope follow how you feel at the time.

Every visit opens with ten minutes of conversation, the twentieth as much as the first. In that time we read the skin as it is today, answer questions, and take the consent the treatment requires. Only then does anything begin. Nothing is decided in advance.

Oncology esthetics and bodywork

OncoSpa® holds three Journeys. OncoSpa® Grace is the facial: calm, barrier-supportive care with the Toleskin line from Biologique Recherche®, developed for skin that can barely tolerate anything. No fragrance, no friction, measured touch throughout. OncoSpa® Grace is open to everyone.

OncoSpa® Embrace is the bodywork, and it can take two forms: Esalen® Massage, or Manual Lymph Drainage in the Dr. Vodder® method. Which one suits the day is decided in conversation, not at booking.

OncoSpa® Solace brings both lines into a single session, with no handover and no hurry. Bodywork is offered to women only.

You are welcome during active therapy, after it, or years later. And anything can be changed, paused, or simplified at any point, without explanation.

What is oncology esthetics?

Oncology esthetics is care that adapts to a therapy rather than adding to it. What happens to skin during cancer treatment does not call for stronger care. It calls for quieter care. In practice that means a conversation before any touch, an appointment at which you meet no one, and a pace you set.

How do I recognize an oncology esthetician?

In Germany, oncology esthetician is not a protected professional title. Two questions help: what exactly does the training certify, and who issued it.

Here the answer sits with a third party rather than with us alone. The Fundación Ricardo Fisas Natura Bissé in Barcelona published the training itself on 27 May 2026, naming both Meisterinnen des Hauses, the masters of the house, and the course they sat. What the certificate does and does not record is set out further down this page.

What makes an oncology treatment different from an ordinary one?

Four things: the pressure, the zones, the product, and the pace. Pressure stays light throughout. Certain zones are left untouched. The product carries no fragrance and as few components as it can. And the pace follows the day rather than a sequence. An ordinary treatment adds. This one takes away, until only what helps is left.

Is a treatment possible during therapy?

That is your clinical team's decision, not ours. What we can say is this: we work during active therapy, after it, and years later, and we adapt, postpone, or simplify whenever that is the right thing.

Every visit opens with conversation before anything else. If your team has named restrictions, please bring them. If anything remains unclear, we do not begin. You can start with the Inanna Consult®.

Which areas are spared?

Irradiated skin, surgical scars still healing, port and catheter sites, a stoma, and areas affected by lymphedema are left untouched unless your clinical team has expressly cleared them. Deep pressure is never applied.

And we ask rather than making you point: where may I touch, and where would you rather I did not? That question comes at the beginning, not halfway through. With an acute infection, a fever, unresolved thrombosis risk, or unstable metastasis we do not work at all. In any doubt we stop and coordinate.

How does chemotherapy change the skin?

It becomes thinner and drier and reacts faster. Neuropathy changes how touch arrives. Irradiated areas behave differently from the rest. And all of it fluctuates: what is right today may not have been right last week.

Skincare during chemotherapy therefore means doing less and looking more often, which is why the skin is read again at every visit. Care after radiotherapy is applied no sooner than two hours afterwards, never before it, and always with the fingertips, with no cotton pad, and no pressure.

Is OncoSpa® worked as lymph drainage or as Esalen®?

Either is possible, and the choice is made in conversation. Esalen® Massage works in long, quiet strokes across the whole body; for this period we take the pressure and the tempo down.

Manual Lymph Drainage in the Dr. Vodder® method is light by construction: roughly thirty torr, about the weight of a coin, on dry skin, and without oil. Stronger pressure would close the fine vessels rather than open them. For lymph drainage outside an oncology context there is a separate path.

What does a visit look like?

A quiet welcome, then ten minutes of conversation. Every other Journey in the house opens at this point with Inanna Aromatherapy®. This one does not: fragrance stays out unless you ask for it.

Then positioning and draping, with regard for scars, port sites, and anything tender. The session itself is slow and quiet. If you fall asleep, that is welcome. At the end there is no hurry: you decide when the day starts again.

What if I cannot manage on the day?

Then we move it. Choosing not to proceed on a given day is always a valid outcome. You are welcome to ask for a pause, an adjustment, or an ending at any point, without needing to explain. Choosing rest is never a setback.

I am looking on someone else's behalf. What can I do?

Many people who arrive here are looking for a partner, a daughter, or a friend. You do not have to persuade anyone and you do not have to decide anything. Any Journey can be given as a gift, and the appointment is then found together. If you are unsure, write to us. We listen before we advise.

The house behind the care

People who find this page are usually not looking for a treatment. They are looking for someone they can trust with it. Appointments are placed so that you meet no one, neither arriving nor leaving. That is Inanna Privé®, and it is a matter of scheduling rather than of luck. For someone who would rather not be seen just now, that is not an amenity. It is the whole decision. Ten minutes of conversation precede every visit, the twentieth as much as the first.

This work is carried by the Meisterinnen des Hauses, the masters of the house. The hand leads and technology follows, and on this page it steps back entirely. Why the house works this way is set out in the Inanna Method®.

Two Meisterinnen des Hauses completed the Oncology Aesthetics course of the Fundación Ricardo Fisas Natura Bissé in Barcelona, May 2026 edition, delivered with the Sociedad Española de Medicina Estética. The Foundation carries the name of Ricardo Fisas and was established by his family. The training our work follows is recognized to the standards of the SATCC, the Standards Authority for Touch in Cancer Care, registered in England and Wales under number 1201728.

We say what the paper supports and nothing beyond it. The certificate records attendance on the course, and no state-recognized qualification for this field exists in Germany. That is true here for everyone. We think it is the right thing to tell people who need to know exactly whom they are trusting.

Manual Lymph Drainage in the Dr. Vodder® method comes from a different lineage. Emil and Estrid Vodder developed it in the 1930s and presented it in Paris in 1936. Our Meisterin des Hauses learned it at the Dr. Vodder Akademie in Walchsee, Tyrol: four weeks across a foundation and a therapy course, with two examinations, open only to those who already hold a qualification in a health profession.

Quite different is the origin of Esalen® Massage. It began in 1962 at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, founded by Michael Murphy and Richard Price, and it works in long, continuous movements across the whole body. For this season we take it considerably down.

For facial care we work with the Toleskin line from Biologique Recherche® in France, introduced in 2022 and developed for skin that reacts quickly and tolerates stimulation poorly. Fragrance-free and deliberately conservative in build.

For bodywork we use an oil with one ingredient: squalane, from Biossance. No fragrance, no preservative, no botanical extract. On skin that currently tolerates almost nothing, the short list is the argument.

Squalene is something the body makes itself, in the sebaceous glands of the skin. Squalane is its saturated, stable form. The traditional source for it is shark liver. Ours comes from sugarcane: yeast ferments the sugar, and the result is distilled and hydrogenated.

The fermentation platform behind it grew out of a research program at the University of California, Berkeley, which set out to engineer yeast to make the precursor of an antimalarial drug. That technology was handed on royalty-free in 2008. The oil is a by-product of that work.

The house is named by others: World Spa Awards, Best Day Spa Germany 2024 and 2025; the only CIDESCO-certified house in Berlin; portrayed in Vogue Italia in 2025.

Care includes knowing the limit. This work replaces no therapy, interferes with none, and is never offered as treatment for an illness. What belongs in medical hands belongs there. Our bodywork, Esalen® Massage and Manual Lymph Drainage in the Dr. Vodder® method, is offered to women only; the facial is open to everyone.

For the time around a birth the house runs a second program on the same principles: MamiSpa®.

Inanna is a private house for skin and hair in Berlin-Mitte. We make no diagnoses and treat no illnesses. The quiet first step is the Inanna Consult®, and whenever you wish, you can reach us here.
