Chemical Peels at Inanna Wellness
Our chemical peels follow one idea: accuracy over intensity. Six gradations of the VI Peel® are available in our house in Berlin-Mitte, from the quiet entry of Classic to the care of larger areas of the body with Body. Each is accompanied by the controlled cooling of the Zimmer CryoPro™, which brings cool air to the skin. A peel can also be set within a fuller facial treatment.
What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel removes the outermost layer of the skin in a fine, controlled way and invites the skin's natural renewal. At Inanna it is done with the VI Peel®, a combination of exfoliating and skin-conditioning actives that your Meisterin des Hauses applies in fine layers. In the days that follow, the surface of the skin refines, gradually and without haste.
How does the VI Peel® differ from a fruit-acid peel?
A classic fruit-acid peel works with a single acid. The VI Peel® brings several actives together in one balanced formulation, exfoliating alongside conditioning. That combination of resurfacing and care is the signature of the method and the reason it can be attuned to a broad range of skin tones. Which gradation makes sense is decided not by the strength of one acid but by the conversation before your visit.
How does the peel feel?
While the peel takes effect, a light tingling or warmth can arise. The formulation is mildly self-numbing, and the cool air of the Zimmer CryoPro™ eases the sensation further. A chemical peel is felt; we describe honestly what to expect rather than make a promise no skin keeps.
How much downtime should I plan for?
In the first days after the peel the skin can flake finely, usually between the third and the seventh day. This belongs to the process and subsides on its own. What matters is not to lift or pull the skin, to keep it moisturised, and to protect it from the sun without exception. How pronounced the flaking is depends on the gradation chosen.
How many sessions make sense?
With this peel, refinement comes less from one strong session than from continuity, in the rhythm your skin sets. A peel is a course of visits rather than a single treatment, with quiet spacing in between. How many visits make sense, and at what interval, we clarify together, never by a fixed formula.
Which gradation suits my concern?
The choice follows your concern: an uneven tone, the appearance of pigment marks or of acne scarring, blemish-prone and acne-prone skin, or fine lines. For pigment and blemish concerns in particular, the care for pigmentation and blemish-prone skin accompanies the peel over time. For texture and fine acne scarring, microneedling is a quiet, needle-based alternative.
Is the peel suited to sensitive or darker skin?
The VI Peel® was attuned to a broad range of skin tones from the start, and the fine control over the number of layers allows a cautious first encounter, where less is the right amount. At the same time, an honest note: any peel irritates the skin, and in darker skin tones irritation can deepen pigment. So we work with restraint, with preparation, and with strict sun protection as the foundation. Sensitive and couperose-prone skin we discuss first; often the quiet care for sensitive skin is the better first step.

The house behind the care
A chemical peel is a corrective treatment, and so the conversation comes first. Before every visit your Meisterin des Hauses takes ten minutes for the Inanna Consult®, reads your skin that day, and chooses the gradation that suits it. Nothing is decided in advance, nothing by formula.
The peel is carried out by the Meisterinnen des Hauses, the masters of the house, in a tradition of craft in which the hand leads and the technology follows. This attitude we call the Inanna Method®.
The VI Peel® comes from the United States, from the Vitality Institute in Los Angeles. It was developed by Dr. Abdala F. Khalil, an emergency-room physician, who composed the original formulation for the hormonal cystic acne of his eldest daughter, Marya. He developed it at a time when peels were widely considered unsafe for darker skin; his aim was a peel that joins refinement with tolerability and accompanies the skin rather than only taxing it. It launched in 2005 as a mildly self-numbing formulation attuned to a broad range of skin tones. Rather than relying on the force of single acids, it brings exfoliating and conditioning actives together in one composition. The company, named VI Aesthetics since October 2015, remains owned by the founder's family; Marya Khalil-Otto, for whose skin the formulation was created, has led it as President since 2013. At Inanna the peel is accompanied by the controlled cooling of the Zimmer CryoPro™ from Neu-Ulm in Bavaria, a maker that has worked on cold-air technology since the late 1960s. So two origins meet within a single treatment: the American formulation and the German precision of the cooling. In Berlin, as far as we know, only Inanna currently works with the VI Peel®.
Inanna was named Germany's best Day Spa by the World Spa Awards in 2024 and 2025, is the only CIDESCO-certified house in Berlin, and was portrayed in Vogue Italia in 2025. What remains is not a quick effect but care that follows the rhythm of your skin.
